How to Compress a PDF for Email

Steps
Open Compress PDF
Use the browser-based Compress PDF tool on the file you plan to email.
Compare the result
Run compression and compare the original and compressed sizes shown by the tool.
Check the pages
Open the new file and confirm that the text, images, and page count look right.
Attach the smaller copy
Use the downloaded copy as your email attachment and keep the original as a backup.
Check the file before compressing
Look at the file size and consider what makes the document large. PDFs saved repeatedly by office software often contain redundant structure that repacking can remove.
A scanned PDF made mostly of images may see little change because this mode does not re-encode images.
What to do if the PDF is still too large
Remove pages the recipient does not need, then compress the smaller document. You can also convert image-heavy source material before creating the final PDF.
Keep the original file until you have opened and checked the compressed copy.
