How to Crop White Margins from a PDF

Large white margins waste space on screen and paper. Crop PDF lets you remove a measured amount from the top, bottom, left, and right of every page in a new copy.

Steps

  1. Open Crop PDF

    Add the document whose margins you want to trim.

  2. Inspect the margins

    Look for content near each edge before entering values.

  3. Enter crop amounts

    Set top, bottom, left, and right values in points.

  4. Download and review

    Crop the pages, then check the first, middle, and last pages.

Measure before you crop

Use points for the margin values: 72 points equal one inch. Start with a small value and check that no text, footnotes, or page numbers sit in the area you plan to remove.

Cropping changes the visible page area. It does not rewrite the text or images inside that area.

Be careful with mixed page layouts

A single set of margins applies to every page. Documents with different templates may need separate batches or a smaller crop that works for all pages.

Keep the original file so you can adjust the crop later.
