How to Extract Pages from a PDF

Extracting pages creates a focused PDF from a longer document. You can select individual pages and ranges such as 1-3, 5, and 8-10, then download the selected pages as a new file.

Steps

  1. Open Extract Pages

Choose Extract Pages from the PDF tools list.

  2. Add the source PDF

Drop the document into the browser-based tool.

  3. Enter the pages

Type individual pages and ranges, such as 2, 4-6, 12.

  4. Download the new PDF

Extract the selection and download the separate document.

Extract pages instead of sending the full file

A contract may contain schedules that a recipient does not need. A report may include an appendix that belongs in a separate email. Extracting keeps the shared copy focused.

The original PDF stays intact, so you can create several focused copies from the same source.

Choose the right page syntax

Use commas for separate selections and a hyphen for a continuous range. For example, 2, 4-6, 12 selects page 2, pages 4 through 6, and page 12.

Count pages as they appear in the PDF, including covers and blank pages.
